Important Message – Please do not ignore

Police are investigating two burglaries that occurred in Thornton Rust and Leyburn sometime between the evening / morning of the 2nd and 3rd of February 2026.

A silver Suzuki King Quad 500 was stolen from a locked garage in Thornton Rust; and a pressure washer was stolen from a locked container in the location of Leyburn Rugby Club.

Do you have any information which would assist North Yorkshire Police in finding those responsible and help keep your community safe?

Did you or anyone who you live with, hear or see anything around the above time and date?

Do you have any CCTV coverage capturing the burglary, or anything happening on the street before or after?

Do you have a vehicle with a dash-cam parked in the area?

Security Advice

Ensure that all doors are locked overnight, and windows are locked or on a latch.

Remove any valuables from sight and it is advisable to keep house/cars key, wallets/purses, phones/laptops/tablets in the room where you sleep.

Consider fitting a security light to the side of your property.
